74th Cannes Film Festival

The 74th annual Cannes Film Festival was held in July 2021 after the cancelation of the 2020 Festival – the first time since World War II. The elation that people felt at coming out of pandemic lockdown was palpable in every facet of this esteemed film festival. The Honorary Palme d’Or was awarded to American actress and filmmaker Jodie Foster, and Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio. The famed Promenade de la Croisette boardwalk glittered in the French Riviera’s most beguiling resort town. Cannes is known for premiering movies that have gone onto enjoy meteoric success: Pulp Fiction and Taxi Driver are two examples. Bella Hadid won the glamor trophy in a show-stopping vintage Jean Paul Gaultier gown.
