Princess Catherine Standing Ovation Wimbledon 2024

The much-loved Princess of Wales, affectionately known as Kate, delighted Wimbledon tennis fans as she arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis Club alongside her 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister Pippa Middleton.

The courageous young mom of three received a rousing standing ovation from the crowd – something that clearly touched her.

In March 2024, Princess Catherine announced her cancer diagnosis in a video broadcast across the world. She stayed away from the public while she prioritized her treatment process.

In June 2024, she wrote in a letter that she was “making good progress” but had “good days and bad days” while going through chemotherapy. She joined the royal family for King Charles’ birthday celebrations on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Trooping of the Color ceremony.

The Princess of Wales handed Spanish tennis protégé, Carlos Alcaraz, the championship trophy after the Wimbledon men’s final. The crowd and well-wishers across the world were thrilled and relieved to see Kate, who has been an exemplary example of grace and human decency – way before her battle with cancer. After Wimbledon, the Waleses retreated to their country home – the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.
